3 movies you need to see in this lifetime!

You know how I said that my next post will be about my favorite district in Barcelona? Well… I changed my mind. I’m going completely off-script!

Lads and lasses, I am sharing with you today 3 of the most iconic movies I had the great inspiration to choose to watch at some point, and absolutely loved!
So make yourself comfy and grab a bag of popcorn, you’re about to be persuaded. Hopefully.

Allow me to start with the famous Schindler’s List. It’s a must see, take my word for it. For the sake of history itself. At least.
blogger_barcelona_instablog_movieblog_review_cinemaMany believe that its greatness wasn’t achieved by the acting or direction, but by the events themselves. I beg the difference and strongly feel that Steven Spielberg somehow found a way to make an awful chapter in human history approachable with this 1993 masterpiece.
You will witness atrocities beyond imagination in this movie and yet the truth is, it was even worse than that. Spielberg couldn’t capture it all.
And that thought only will change your life and make you see the world completely different. At least for a period of time, until the movie fades out of your memory.

The Holocaust is a subject too unexplainable for any movie to reasonably encapsulate. But instead of focusing directly and only on utter sadness, you will witness a story of hope also – which is the main reason why the movie was and still is highly criticized.
Apparently, for some people, the Holocaust was and should forever remain just plain horror. Nothing more, nothing less.
Be aware, although immensely rewarding, it is so incredibly hard to watch.
Francis Ford Coppola had The Godfather, Quentin Tarantino had Pulp Fiction, and now Christopher Nolan amazes us with Inception.

Also known as Leonardo Dicaprio’s greatest movie. If you’re a fan, that should be enough for you. If not, let me assure you that this movie contains every single ingredient necessary to blogger_barcelona_instablog_movieblog_review_inceptiondeliver that cinematic experience we all long for, with an amazing cast and a thrilling storyline, coupled with visuals that will definitely titillate your mind.
Inception’s level of originality is what separates it from the majority. Cinema is rarely this engaging on so many levels.

Don’t let the movie covers fool you into thinking this is yet another ¨gun fighting-secret agent-action movie¨ – Inception introduces us to a world where we can infiltrate dreams and extract information from it via hidden vaults and locks.
In a story where ideas play a key role, the film suggests that balance is the key.
Dreams allow us to sustain ideas that could never exist in real life, and sometimes never should. They allow us catharsis, a chance to balance it all in a way we can’t in life.

As if that were not enough, the action sequences keep you on the edge of your seat!
For now it’s a wholehearted recommendation and I’m not going to mince anymore words here; if you haven’t seen Inception yet, go see if now.It happens to both the best and worst of us at some time in our lives. Love that is. Love at first sight, soul mates, destiny… yada yada yada. If you haven’t experienced this yet just wait. It’s inevitable.
Eternal_sunshine_of_the_spotless_mind_blogger_barcelona_instablog_movieblog_reviewBy far and by my standards of a true and touching love story, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is somewhere around the peek. The film has passion and flare and brilliant wit, all framed by a great script.
It is the antithesis of the typical romantic Hollywood fare. I loved every minute of its refreshing originality. These characters feel real. You root for them.
We are talking about a unique movie storyline: a painful breakup leads to the decision to erase completely the memories of it ever happening. Would you?

Main character: What a loss to spend that much time with someone, only to find out that she’s a stranger. – Literally. Wait. What? Intrigued already?

Besides all these, I never imagined that I would put Jim Carry as an elite actor considering his comedic background. Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind really impressed me, after seeing his performance. The movie itself is amazing and captivating, but seeing Carry playing a serious role is even more rewarding.

Go give it a try! It’s a complicated subject that can’t be explained, it can only be experienced for what it is utterly confusing and yet at the same time completely fulfilling.Must I really mention that this is only part 1? I have so many other recommendations for you, I don’t even know where to start!
Have you seen these movies?

Very strong list!! Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind happens to be my favorite movie actually!! Its so profound. Beautifully depicts that you must love yourself before you can experience love that will last. Also shows how we often become damaged when we’re children and the creator inside can’t create the masterpiece they desire until things are fixed in the past, they’ll only perpetuate. I attempted to write about the movie, you can check it out if you’re interested. Thanks for the follow btw and welcome to WordPress!

All three are great films… Spotless is one of my all time favorites though… Have you seen Predestination? It isn’t on the same epic level as these three, but I think you might like it. Love to get your take on Swimming Pool as well.. Take care

Excellent choices, although I admit the Eternal Sunshine was one I didn’t expect to find. I recall it only vaguely yet I long to revisit it to see it through your eyes.
You touched on something that struck me, Carrey’s stray from the typical comedic role. He’s now done a few and indeed it’s stunning. I have an appreciation for that as it distinguishes truly great actor from merely popular ones. Too many step into some puddle of success in a certain role and from there after, only play the same character in every film. You can literally interchange them and never see a difference! Pacino is a perfect example. There are a few movies that break free from the expected formula to astound audiences as well. Long before “Split” , there was “Identity ” which first cracked the mold yet while Split mimicked the idea, I must give a hat tip to James McAvoy who showed his range in acting! An actor who I think hasn’t nearly recieved enough credit for his craft, was Val Kilmer. From Iceman in Top Gun, Madmartigan in Willow to Jim Morrison in The Doors.
I can’t wait for your pt 2! I feel inspired!

Thank you for your comment! I completely agree with you, I love the fact that Carrey can jungle with various roles and did not got stuck in the comedy world. Thank you for the examples, I did not see “Identity”!
I am checking it right now.
